Romantic Masía Wedding Near Sitges
Nicola & Thomas
Nicola and Thomas’s wedding was more than just a single day – it was a full week of celebration, connection, and sunshine in the hills of Catalonia. Flying in from the UK with their closest family and friends, they turned their destination wedding into a true holiday experience.
Seven years after photographing her sister’s intimate wedding in another beautiful masía near Sitges, I had the joy of capturing Nicola and Thomas’s celebration at the stunning Masía Pou de la Vinya, in the peaceful countryside of Olivella, just outside Sitges.
The Perfect Town for Wedding Photography
Just a short drive from the venue, the charming coastal town of Sitges offers the perfect setting for wedding portraits. With its whitewashed streets, Mediterranean light, and seaside views, Sitges is a dream location for couples looking for a mix of elegance, romance, and authenticity.
The historic old town, with its narrow alleys and traditional Catalan facades, is full of texture and character — ideal for natural, editorial-style wedding photos. Whether by the church overlooking the sea, along the promenade, or tucked into hidden courtyards, every corner offers a unique frame.
A Walk Through Sitges
After the ceremony, we took a short walk through the streets of Sitges, soaking in the sea breeze and golden light.
This quiet moment gave Nicola and Thomas a chance to pause, be present, and enjoy the beauty of the town — just the two of them, before the evening celebration.
An Intimate Celebration
Nicola and Thomas chose to celebrate their love with just their closest family and friends — a small and intimate wedding with around 30 guests.
This closeness created a warm, relaxed atmosphere where everyone felt part of something truly special. As they gathered outside the church after the ceremony, you could feel the joy and connection in every smile and embrace.
Floral Design – A Visit to Diablo Diablo in Vilanova i la Geltrú
One of the most special touches of Nicola’s wedding day was her bridal bouquet and the groom’s boutonnière, created by the talented team at Diablo Diablo, a local floral studio in Vilanova i la Geltrú.
A few days before the wedding, we had the chance to visit their flower shop and see how the bouquet was being crafted. Watching the process unfold — the thoughtful selection of seasonal blooms, the layering of textures, and the careful attention to color and form — gave us a deeper connection to the final result. It wasn’t just a bouquet, but a small piece of art that reflected Nicola’s style and the relaxed elegance of the day.
Diablo Diablo’s work brought a modern, slightly wild Mediterranean feel to the wedding — organic, refined, and full of personality.
